Hazard alerts (GDACS, tsunami, NAVAREA, USGS)
Use this when you need current natural-hazard alerts coarsened to country or NAVAREA region: GDACS, NOAA tsunami, NGA maritime warnings and USGS earthquakes.
What it is
Active hazard alerts from GDACS (EC-JRC / UN OCHA; attribution required, not for life-safety use), NOAA tsunami messages (NTWC/PTWC), NGA maritime warnings reduced to NAVAREA region (not for navigation), and USGS M2.5+ earthquakes (credit requested) reduced to country. Filter by country or region. If an upstream feed is down the others are still returned with degraded=true and missing[] (each missing input includes last-good as_of when known). 503 only when every input is empty. No coordinates or station IDs.

Parameters
| Name | Type | Description | Constraints |
|---|---|---|---|
country | string | ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country filter. | example JP; pattern ^[A-Za-z]{2}$ |
region | string | Case-insensitive substring on NAVAREA / tsunami center / country name, e.g. NAVAREA IV. | example NAVAREA IV |
Example request
No account and no key. Query values below are the examples or defaults from the registry. An optional free key (header x-api-key) raises the limits; create one at https://cev-os.com/#api_keys after signing in with a verified email (Google sign-in is already verified).
curl -s "https://api.cev-os.com/v1/hazard-alerts?country=JP®ion=NAVAREA%20IV"
Example response
Every /v1 response is a JSON envelope (schema_version, product, timestamps, license, attribution, data). The registry example is the data member:
